Liz Pope, 52, was killed after a school bus full of cheerleaders was involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler truck late Friday evening. Pope passed away early Saturday from her injuries.
According to police, the roads were wet and there was limited visibility, though the cause of the crash is still unclear. The wreck took place on Interstate 20 in Big Spring in West Texas. The bus was headed back home after a football playoff game.
8 people were taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for their injuries. 2 of those were in serious condition, and 4 were transported to a different hospital for further treatment.
