A wreck involving an 18-wheeler truck took place early Friday morning on Interstate 35 in Northeast San Antonio. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the wreck occurred when the 18-wheeler struck a highway barrier, which caused the gas tank to rupture.
Two people inside the truck were later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and were released shortly afterwards.
The wreck caused a total shutdown of the southbound lanes of I-35. No other cars were reported as being involved in the wreck.
