On Friday evening 16 students and a bus driver were injured near Houston when their school bus was struck by a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Camry drove onto the Interstate 45 feeder road after stopping at a stop sign. The Camry then collided with the school bus, which was moving in the opposite direction. 16 students and the bus driver were transported to local hospitals for their injuries, none of which were life-threatening . One of the students was transported via helicopter to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple.
The passenger of the Camry was also transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment. The driver of the Camry was not transported.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently reviewing the cause of the crash.
