The driver of an 18-wheeler truck, Martin Huerta, 41, was killed Saturday night after he crashed into the trailer of another 18-wheeler.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the crash took place near a private driveway, at the 12300 block of Somerset road. Huerta reportedly made a too-wide turn and then struck the trailer of the other large truck in the opposite lane.
Huerta was stuck inside the cab of his truck, and firefighters from the San Antonio Fire Department had to extricate him from the vehicle. Emergency responders transported him to nearby University Hospital, but Huerta died shortly after arriving there.
Reports stated that the other driver is expected to be okay. Police investigators stated that both weather and speed were likely factors in this crash.
