A freak accident occurred Tuesday in Dallas when an 18-wheeler collided with a concrete median on Interstate 35.
According to police reports, an 18-wheeler truck was driving north on I-35 West, near Northeast 28th Street, when it ran into a concrete median. This collision shifted a whole chunk of the median into the opposite southbound lanes.
At this same time, a black southbound SUV crashed into the shifted barrier, and went airborne, falling off the highway overpass. The driver of the SUV, Stephen Dean, 46, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he unfortunately later died. The driver of the truck was also injured in the wreck.
It was not reported whether any charges have been filed by police, nor what caused the initial truck-median collision.
