Motorcyclist Confirmed Dead in I-35 Trucking Accident

On the afternoon of Monday, October 10th, a motorcycle rider was confirmed dead after a collision with a fuel truck on Interstate 35 in Temple, Texas. Temple Fire and Rescue stated that the truck was carrying 1,000 gallons of fuel. The fuel truck is reportedly owned by Shallow Ford Construction, a Temple-based company. After the accident the truck sat on top of the center I-35 barrier, having caused damage to about 30 feet of the barrier.

truck-2The accident reportedly shut down 3 out of the 4 lanes going both north and south in the aftermath of the wreck. Traffic backed up over 4 miles in each direction. The delays lasted until about 8 p.m.

At this time the cause of the accident has not been determined. The Temple Police Department Accident Reconstruction Scene was on the site for hours conducting its review. This post will be updated should more information be reported.
