A car accident in Southeast Austin claimed the life of Mary Schettler Bourland. The fatal car accident occurred when a Kia Sorrento pulled out of an apartment complex and into the path of Ms. Bourland as she was driving eastbound on Slaughter Lane. The driver of the Kia Sorrento, who has not yet been identified, was also transported to the hospital following the car accident. That person’s current condition is unknown. The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
