A good samaritan was killed early this morning when a DART bus struck him on Interstate 35 East in Dallas. Investigations indicate that an earlier accident occurred on Interstate 35, and the victim got out of his truck to assist directing traffic away from the accident when he was struck by the DART bus. The victim’s name has not been released at this time. It is also unclear at this time what caused the DART driver to strike the victim.
Our Dallas car accident lawyers have handled numerous cases against DART and currently have active litigation files against them. If you need to file a claim against DART as a result of a car accident or other injury, it is important to understand that DART is a governmental agency, and as such, has legal protections that everyday citizens do not have, such as notice requirements and caps on damages you can recover.
