Austin 18-Wheeler Wreck Causes Huge Traffic Delays

Early storms Monday morning in Southwest Austin caused traffic mayhem after an 18-wheeler slid off a roadway and into a ditch.

The crash, which took place near US Highway 290 West and McCarty lane, is believed to have been caused by slick roads from overnight storms. Thankfully no other vehicles were involved in the wreck, and no injuries were reported.

Several intersections in the Oak Hill neighborhood reported traffic signals that lost power, though it is unclear whether that factored into this wreck. Police investigators have not yet released an official report.

Both directions of the highway were down to one lane, causing huge delays.
