19-year-old Armando Ibanez, from Canton, Mississippi, was killed in an 18-wheeler accident in Madison County, Mississippi.
According to officials, the wreck took place on Interstate 55, when a van and an 18-wheeler collided. Exact details on how the crash occurred have not yet been made available. Emergency officials responded and had to extract Ibanez, the driver of the van, with the jaws of life.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, Jermaine Russo, 23, was apparently uninjured in the wreck. One of the investigating officers on the scene, Corporal Brandon Fortenberry, with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, said that another person was flown to a local hospital by helicopter. It was unclear if this individual was another driver, or a passenger in the van or truck.
