Seatbelt Manufacturer Sued After Fatal Car Accident

The family of a deceased Tyler woman is suing the seatbelt manufacturer TRW Vehicle Safety Systems alleging her seatbelt was unreasonably dangerous.Sandra Dozier was driving westbound on State Highway 31, wearing her seatbelt, when she lost control of her 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix and it rolled over. The suit alleges the buckle on the seatbelt fails to provide proper restraint, the buckle fails to comply with legal statutes, and it violates principles of crashworthiness and General Motors’ internal specifications.
