Ramiro Rivera, 33, was killed Wednesday night when his motorcycle was hit by a Hummer SUV that failed to yield the right of way in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, Texas.
The incident took place just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of Westmoreland Road and West Illinois Avenue.
According to police, Rivera was driving south on Westmoreland at a high speed. An unidentified 29-year-old driving a Hummer northbound on Westmoreland attempted to turn left onto West Illinois Avenue, but failed to yield the right of way to Rivera.
Rivera’s motorcycle struck the front of the Hummer, ejecting Rivera into the eastbound lanes of West Illinois Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not stated whether they will issue the driver of the Hummer a citation, or press charges.
