A pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning in Austin where Interstate 35 intersects US Highway 290 northeast of downtown.
The crash was reported around 6 a.m. According to police the pedestrian was crossing I-35 from east to west when he was hit by two vehicles. The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene. Upon arrival, emergency authorities confirmed that the pedestrian had died in the crash.
Heavy traffic was reported in the area, as investigators blocked off all southbound lanes for Interstate 35 for about 4 hours to review the scene. Traffic delays rose to about 40 minutes.
No official police report has been issued at this time.
