James Humphries, 71, and his wife Shirlene Humphries, 70, were killed this week near Winnie, Texas when an 18-wheeler and passenger car were involved in a wreck. The Humphries were from the town of Vidor in east Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred on Highway 73 at County Line Road, near Highway 124. It took place at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The crash took place when the Humphries’ Lincoln Towne Car, driven by James, was moving southbound on County Line Road and ran a stop sign, driving onto Highway 73. The Lincoln was then hit by a westbound 18-wheeler truck, according to Texas DPS.
It was not reported whether the driver of the 18-wheeler was injured.
