Nine people were injured this afternoon when an 18-wheeler flipped over and set on fire after hitting a pickup truck on Interstate 35 West in Fort Worth.
Of the nine injured, one was in critical condition. That individual, along with three others, were transported by EMS to nearby hospitals. The other five were treated on the scene by medical professionals. The identities of those involved have not been publicly released.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the crash took place at the I-35 West intersection with Golden Triangle Boulevard.
Structural damage to the roadway overpass was also being assessed by the Texas Department of Transportation. One TxDOT official stated that “no damage had been detected, but we will have to wait until the scene has been cleared in order to make a proper assessment.”
Officials have not yet indicated whether any particular driver was at fault for the wreck.
