Jack Ross II, 29, Killed in Sumter, SC Tractor-Trailer Crash

A deadly highway crash took place early this morning, shutting down one of the main roads in and out of Sumter, South Carolina. Jack Ross II, 29, was killed in the crash, though his identity has not been released.

According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved an 18-wheeler truck and two passenger cars early in the morning, and took place on Highway 15 North, about one mile from the city.

Three other people were taken to hospitals for treatment. It is not clear which vehicles they belonged to.

The incident is currently being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and no fault has been determined yet on behalf of any of the drivers involved. The highway was shutdown for cleanup and investigation for several hours, causing massive delays.
