An 18-Wheeler wreck took place Wednesday evening, causing a huge shutdown of traffic on Austin’s busiest highway.
The accident happened on Interstate 35, just north of William Cannon. A truck hauling Colgate dental hygiene products was immobilized when the rear part of its trailer fell to the road, stopping the truck in its tracks.
Workers brought into large dollies to help with cleanup of boxes off of the truck. It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved in the wreck, or that any drivers or passengers were injured.
There has been no word from officials regarding the exact cause of the accident, nor whether improper cargo loading or over-loading played a role.
