Two young women were killed when their truck was involved in a car wreck with an 18-wheeler truck. The wreck took place at the 2800 block of Highway 59 northbound, at the intersection with Cottonwood Drive, at about 3 a.m. Saturday morning.
Marissa Rodriguez, 26, and Nicolette Huebotter, 24, were driving a black Chevy Silverado, and were both ejected from their vehicle as a result of the collision. Both women were sitting in the back of the Silverado. Police have stated that at this time they are unsure of how the wreck occurred.
The driver and the passenger of the Silverado were also injured in the wreck. The driver was taken to nearby Oak Bend Medical Center, and the passenger was transported by life flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital downtown. Their exact conditions were not reported.
The driver of the 18-wheeler truck was also taken to Oak Bend Medical Center, though his condition is also unknown.
No police report has been filed yet, as police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
