A truck driver died after the truck he was driving exited the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near New Braunfels, struck a guardrail and large sign, and then burst into flames. The large sign ended up on the freeway, causing a second tractor trailer that hit the sign to wreck into the concrete wall and jack knife. Another pickup truck also struck the sign. No one was injured in the two accidents that followed the initial wreck. Traffic on both directions on Interstate 35 was temporarily stopped to deal with the accident.
