Two people were killed yesterday after a head-on collision including an 18-wheeler truck occurred in Rose City, Texas. The wreck took place at about noon on Interstate 10 at mile marker 858, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Laura Blevins, 68, and Donald Blevins, 61, were both killed at the scene of the accident after their vehicle was struck by the large truck. The wreck occurred when an Isuzu flatbed truck, driving westbound in the inside lane, was struck in the rear by a Kenworth tractor trailer. The Kenworth truck then lost control, drove over a concrete median, and into oncoming eastbound traffic, where it ran straight into a Ford pickup truck driven by the Blevins.
The driver of the Kenworth, an unidentified 33-year-old male, was sent to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The driver of the Isuzu flatbed, John Duffy, 53, suffered minor injuries, and was treated onsite.
All eastbound lanes of I-1o were closed as a result of the accident. No police investigation has been publicly released, so it is unknown whether any drivers will face charges.
