An unidentified woman was killed Saturday morning after colliding into the back of an 18-wheeler truck.
The crash took place on Almeda Genoa road between Scott and Land streets. Emergency officials received a call at about 1:30 a.m. reported the wreck. According to the Houston Police Department, the 18-wheeler truck was stopped and waiting for a gate to open so that it could turn into property on Almeda Genoa. The SUV was reportedly traveling eastbound at a high speed before it slammed into the back of the trailers.
The woman died instantly. Investigators are currently looking into whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
