I am always shocked when I hear about a hit and run accident. How can someone leave the scene of accident without providing aid to other involved in the car accident? What is particularly shocking is when someone can leave the scene of an accident involving two young pedestrians. That is what happened yesterday, when Daniel McDonald and his passenger, Patrick Preston, left the scene of an accident involving a five year old boy and six year old girl. Witnesses say that the young kids were on their way to the park with older kids when the speeding suburban driven by McDonald struck the kids. McDonald sped from the scene, ditching the suburban at a nearby apartment. Fortunately, concerned witnesses alerted officers to McDonald’s whereabouts. The young buy, Lamarion Perry, sustained severe injuries that were treated, but unfortunately, five year old Khyla Hayes died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the hit and run accident. McDonald is now facing two counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death.
