Deborah Ann Halsell, 52, was killed last week when her SUV ran into an 18-wheeler truck. The crash took place Monday afternoon at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and 38 1/2 Street.
According to police, Halsell did not keep her “assured clear distance” from the Freightliner 18-wheeler that was coming to a stop at a red light. Halsell, driving a white Ford Expedition, slammed into the back of the trailer.
Halsell was sent to University Medical Center Brackenridge, but was later pronounced dead.
Police stated that the incident is still under investigation. Reports did not state whether the driver of the truck was injured.
