According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, two people were killed in a wreck involving an 18-wheeler that took place today near Killeen.
The crash occurred when a Pontiac drove into the path of the oncoming 18-wheeler. Officials have not identified exactly what caused the Pontiac to apparently lose control. The wreck took place on State Highway 7, about 4 miles east of Kosse, Texas.
Crystal Bennet, 32, of Montgomery, Texas, and Malina Bishop, 52, of Goodrich, Texas, were both killed on impact. The driver of the 18-wheeler was injured, and was sent to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Texas DPS is still investigating the crash, and no official report has been released at this time.
