Two 16-year-old teenagers were killed after their pickup truck collided with a semi-truck in Kane County, Illinois.
According to police, Arthur Stenger and Elijah Vajgert were driving westbound at the intersection of Meredith and Beith roads. They stopped at a stop sign and proceeded through the intersection but were struck by a southbound semi-truck. The truck collided into the pickup, causing them to roll over and hit a nearby utility pole and power lines. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the downed power lines caused one of the vehicles to set on fire.
The 18-wheeler, driven by Jack Krueger, 60, did not have to stop at the intersection. Krueger was reportedly injured, and was treated on the scene and released.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the crash along with the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team. No citations have been issued at this time.
