A fire truck responding to a car crash was hit by another vehicle on Interstate 35 East this past Sunday. The fire engine, which was stationary and blocking lanes in front of an existing car wreck, was struck from behind.
The crash took place at about 8:20 a.m. Fire officials stated that they didn’t believe any injuries were caused in this crash.
Officials were unclear as to weather being a factor in the crash, since the fire crews originally on the scene had requested help for flooding issues on the highway.
All southbound lanes of Highway 820 were closed for about an hour after the wreck.
