Monday Morning Weather Contributes To Over 100 Car Wrecks In Tarrant County

The heavy rain has contributed to more than 100 car accidents in Tarrant County this morning. Between midnight last night and 9:10 this morning, there were 70 accidents reported to the Fort Worth Police Department, and there were thirty-two major accidents and 25 minor accidents reported in Arlington, Texas.

At least one fatal car accident was reported this morning. One person was killed and five were injured in a single car wreck in Ft. Worth on Interstate 30 near Rosedale. A silver 2003 Dodge four-door pickup carrying nine people hit standing water and spun out of control before flipping over a guardrail and traveling over 200 feet before hitting the ground. One of the passengers in the truck died at the scene. The 17 year old driver admitted to having drinks prior to driving and also had other signs of possible intoxication. The driver now faces intoxication manslaughter charges as a result of the fatal car wreck. In total, five people were taken to the hospital, three of which had potentially life threatening injuries.
