An 18-wheeler truck carrying 48,000 pounds of cotton seed ran into an SUV earlier this morning, sending the SUV driver to the hospital.
The crash took place at Highway 77 just north of Odem near Corpus Christi, Texas. Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that the large truck crashed into the SUV’s driver’s side as the SUV was crossing the highway. The impact flipped the 18-wheeler on its side.
The driver of the 18-wheeler didn’t report any injuries, but the driver of the SUV was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. The severity of her injuries were not reported.
One northbound lane of the highway was closed while the truck’s cargo was cleaned up.
