A Friday morning crash on the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens in New York City caused heavy traffic delays, as well as spilled fuel.
The wreck, between a snow-plow and an 18-wheeler truck, shut down all the southbound lanes of the Expressway. It is currently unclear how the wreck took place, though preliminary reports state that the snow plow crashed through a median barrier on the road, and was seemingly struck by the large commercial truck afterwards.
The 18-wheeler ended up flipping over on its side in the middle of the road. No injuries have been reported yet. All of the southbound lanes, and all but one of the northbound lanes, were closed, creating heavy delays going both ways. Cleanup crews had to bring in a crane to lift the 18-wheeler upright.
