An accident Sunday night involving an 18-wheeler and another vehicle led to extensive closures on Interstate 20 in Hudson Oaks, Texas after hazardous materials were spilled.
The exact details of the wreck have not been reported, but according to the Texas Department of Transportation, phosphoric acid was spilled on the roadway directly following the accident. The acid was being hauled on a flatbed trailer behind the 18-wheeler tractor truck.
Hazmat crews and TxDOT were both called in to handle the clean-up. The westbound portion of I-20 was closed all Sunday night and early Monday morning.
Though the exact numbers are not clear, the driver and passengers of both vehicles were sent to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
