A man was killed Monday in an 18-wheeler crash on North Kona Island in Hawaii. Another was injured and hospitalized in stable condition.
The wreck occurred at the intersection of Highway 190 and Daniel K. Inouye Highway at about 8:30 in the morning.
According to the Hawaii Fire Battalion, the large 18-wheeler failed to stop at a three-way intersection, and drove through a guardrail before tumbling about 15 feet down an embankment on the side of the road. It was not reported whether any additional vehicles were involved in the crash.
The deceased individual has not yet been publicly identified. The 18-wheeler truck reportedly belonged to the Army.
