A woman was injured Monday morning when her car struck an 18-wheeler on Highway 28 in Jones County, Mississippi.
The woman, still unidentified, was struck on the front driver’s side by the large truck. The female driver of the car was transported via ambulance to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, where she was treated for minor injuries. Reports indicate that the driver of the truck was not injured, though the 18-wheeler itself sustained damage that resulted in a fuel leak onto the roadway.
Part of the roadway had to be shut down for cleanup and investigation, resulting in heavy delays. At this time no cause of the accident has been determined, as the investigation remains ongoing.
