Truck Driver Killed After Crashing Into Wrong-Way Driver

The driver of an 18-wheeler truck was killed early Thursday morning after colliding with two other vehicles in Waco, Texas.

Police State that around 3 a.m. a woman was driving her car the wrong way down Highway 6 when she struck another vehicle containing a man and woman. Both of these cars were subsequently hit by an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler flipped over and crashed into a nearby guardrail. The collision with the guardrail separated the cab from the trailer, and the truck driver was killed from the impact.

The 3 individuals in the cars were all transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries included several broken bones.

Police are currently conducting an investigation into the crash, and are specifically looking to see if alcohol played a role in the accident.

The main lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while debris was cleared and while crews investigated the wreck.
