A vehicle hauling several snakes and a baby alligator blew out a tire and crashed Thursday afternoon in south Bexar County near San Antonio, releasing many of the animals out near the roadway.
The crash took place on Interstate 35 after the vehicle blew out it’s tire. Several rattlesnakes, copperhead snakes, water moccasins, and a baby alligator escaped from the vehicle after the crash.
The Texas Game Warden and Lytle Animal Control provided assistance in helping round up the escaped reptiles. One of the snakes was reportedly killed in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle and a child in the vehicle were both injured and transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center, though the nature of their injuries was unknown.
