Last week a chaotic accident unfolded when a truck driver lost control of her 18-wheeler and started a 7-vehicle car wreck.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Malinda Lane was at fault for the accident. Details on the accident are still unclear, but the crash ultimately involved five passenger vehicles and two 18-wheeler trucks. The crash took place on Interstate 20 at mile marker 194 in Augusta, Georgia.
Four people, including Lane, were sent to the hospital after the wreck. All four sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to be okay.
One of the 18-wheeler trucks set on fire as a result of the accident. Fire Department crews were called in to handle this fire, and environmental clean-up crews arrived on the scene to help prevent the spill of diesel fuel.
