In an effort to reduce automobile accidents, a Texas representative recently introduced legislation seeking a statewide ban on texting, e-mailing, and instant messaging while driving. Currently, the only cities in Texas that ban texting while driving are Dallas, San Antonio, Galveston, El Paso, Missouri City, and Austin. Jeanne and Johnny Brown, whose daughter died in a car wreck while texting and driving, provided testimony in support of the bill. Watch the video below for more information about this proposed law.
