Semi Truck and Fire Truck Collide, Sending One to Hospital

Early Sunday morning a semi truck lost control of its steering and crashed into a fire truck with two firefighters onboard.

According to Kentucky State Police, the large truck was heading southbound on Interstate 65 near Smiths Grove, Kentucky, when the driver, Kumar Amandeep, lost control of the vehicle. The truck then separated from the trailer, and then overturned and crashed into the fire truck. Fire Chief Kenneth Priddy and Assistant Chief Steven Wilson, both with the Smiths Grove Fire Department, were both inside.

Only Wilson was injured in the wreck. He was sent to the Medical Center at Bowling Green via EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. Neither Chief Priddy nor the truck driver Amendeep were injured in the crash.

Further details have not yet been made available, as the investigation by the Kentucky State Police is still ongoing. As one can see in the photo below, the extreme level of damage made the fire truck a total loss.
