A passenger driving in a Toyota Rav4 SUV was killed Wednesday afternoon in Farmingdale, in Long Island, NY after they were struck by an 18-wheeler truck.
The cause of the wreck has not yet been determined. According to police, the 18-wheeler crashed into the Rav4 at an intersection. Images show that the car was pushed into the side of a utility pole, coming to rest on its side between the 18-wheeler, the downed pole, and a box truck.
An investigation into the cause of the wreck remains ongoing, and charges have not been filed against any drivers at this time. The names of the parties involved have not yet been released.
