A driver was injured earlier this morning after they were involved in a highway accident with an 18-wheeler truck.
According to police in Petersburg, Virginia, the 18-wheeler truck was traveling south on Interstate 95, with a white pickup traveling behind him. The large truck was attempting to exit to Interstate 85, when for unknown reasons the driver hit the brakes too hard, causing him to skid and crash his truck. Once the 18-wheeler driver lost control, the white pickup truck attempted to avoid the accident and ran up and over a concrete median.
The driver of the white pickup suffered minor injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital. It was not stated whether the driver of the 18-wheeler was injured.
Police have not stated whether charges will be filed against either driver, as an exact cause for the crash has not yet been formally determined.
