The driver of a large box truck caused a wreck on Thursday when the driver lost control of the vehicle and rear-ended a Greyhound passenger bus near Kettleman City, California.
According to police, the two vehicles collided and were then forced up an embankment. The truck then flipped over on its side at the end of the wreck. Three people, including the truck driver and a 6-year-old girl, were injured and later taken to the hospital. The injuries were all reportedly minor.
There were apparently 50 people on the bus at the time of the wreck. Traffic was backed up for several miles due to the wreck, and the passengers of the bus were forced to stand outside in the cold while they waited for alternative transportation.
After interviewing the truck driver, police investigators said that there is a possibility the truck driver fell asleep, as he stated that he did not remember the events of the crash. At this time no police report has been officially released, and no charges against any of the drivers have been filed.
