Two people were killed early Monday when their car was hit by a semi-truck near Hutchinson, Kansas. According to Kansas Highway Patrol officers, the car was heading northbound on Sego Road and failed to yield to the semi-truck heading westbound on US 50. The car was pushed all the way off the road and into a nearby ditch.

The same intersection was the site of another traffic fatality about 3 weeks ago, when Kara McLain, 19, was killed after failing to yield to a semi-truck.
The highway has been shut down while police officials conduct an investigation. It was not reported whether the truck driver sustained any injuries.
