Three 20-year-olds were injured Thursday night in a motor vehicle accident involving a big rig truck.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Mark Woods, 73, was driving a big rig trailer south on Highway 43 when he struck the left side of a 2005 Hyundai Tuscon. The Hyundai was heading east on Whitley Avenue.
The driver of the Hyundai, Carolina Lopez, and the passenger, Sal Estrada, suffered minor injuries. They were taken by ambulance to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford. Fredrick Jones, who was seated behind the driver, suffered major injuries and was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia.
No official police report has been released related to this incident. Police have not yet publicly stated whether charges will be brought against any of the drivers, should they be found at fault for the accident.
