Two separate wrecks involving tractor trailers near Hazleton, Pennsylvania caused huge traffic delays this morning.
The first accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Interstate 81, and involved 6 passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer. Details haven’t been released yet, but witnesses stated that it was a chain reaction crash. Two people were hurt, one of them severely. Police have not reported a cause for the accident at this time. Traffic in the area was tied up as both lanes of the interstate were temporarily shut down.
A second major accident occurred on Route 924, also near Hazleton. An 18-wheeler and a car were involved in a head-on collision that seriously injured two people. The truck driver in this wreck was okay. No report has been given by police as to the cause of this wreck.
