Jesse King Killed in Lufkin 18-Wheeler Highway Crash

Jesse King, 50, was killed Thursday afternoon when he was involved in a car wreck with an 18-wheeler truck on U.S. Highway 59 near Lufkin, Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, four people in total were injured after John Danner, 28, made an unsafe lane change in front of an 18-wheeler truck driven by Earnest Richardson, 66. The passenger side of Danner’s car, a Mercury sedan, struck Richardson’s truck during the lane change.

Jesse King was riding in the front passenger seat of Danner’s car, and was found dead at the scene by emergency officials.

Danner, along with three others in his car, was transported by ambulance to nearby Woodland Heights Medical Center for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

It is not clear whether Danner will face any charges for his reported unsafe lane change.
