Gerrick Butler, 55, died early Saturday morning after crossing over the median of a road and crashing head-on into another vehicle.
The incident took place near Red Bird in South Dallas at about 2:45 a.m. After slamming head-on into the other vehicle, Butler’s car crashed into a tree.
According to police Butler died at the scene.
The other driver, who has not yet been identified, suffered minor injuries and was sent to Methodist Central Hospital of Dallas for treatment.
It has not yet been determined what exactly caused Butler to swerve over the median.
