An 18-wheeler and a moving truck were involved in a fatal wreck Monday night on northbound Interstate 35 near Kyle, Texas, south of Austin.
The crash took place at about 6:40 p.m. According to police reports, the moving truck slammed into the back of the 18-wheeler near mile marker 211. The passenger in the moving truck was killed in the collision. The driver survived, and was sent to a hospital in Austin for treatment. The driver is expected to be okay.
The driver of the large truck was uninjured.
The name of the deceased passenger has not yet been publicly released. It has not yet been made clear why the moving truck ran into the back of the 18-wheeler. Traffic on the interstate was diverted for about for hours while cleanup and investigation took place.
