How much does SSI pay?

SSI allows for monthly payments based on a “federal benefit rate” (FBR). In 2016 this rate was $733/month for individuals and $1,100 for couples. This is the maximum monthly payment a claimant can receive for your federal monthly payment. Many states can add a supplemental monthly benefit, but unfortunately Texas does not.
