Edgar Diaz, 32, was arrested early Saturday morning for driving while intoxicated, after he crashed his car into an 18-wheeler truck and flipped it in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Diaz was driving through an intersection from Interstate 12 to S. Sherwood Forest Boulevard when he crashed into the large commercial truck and flipped it on its side. Police arrested Diaz on the scene after he showed signs of drunkenness and blew a 0.181 BAC on a breathalyzer.
Reports also stated that Diaz did not have any insurance, that his vehicle was not registered, and was not carrying a driver’s license.
The 18-wheeler driver, who was not named in the report, was transported to a nearby hospital with neck and back injuries.
In addition to the charge for DWI, Diaz was charged with failure to maintain control of his vehicle, reckless operation, no proof of insurance, lack of registration, driving without a license, and vehicular negligent injuring.
