On Saturday a suspected drunk driver ran a red light and hit a pickup truck in the Pleasant Grove area in Dallas, injuring a man and a woman.
The incident happened at about 12:35 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Bruton Road and North Prairie Creek Road. The suspect, an unidentified 22-year-old, drove a 1999 Chevy Impala through a red light on North Prairie Creek and slammed into a 1999 Ford F150 pickup heading south through a green light at Bruton.
Both occupants of the pickup were injured. The driver, a 40-year-old male, had minor injuries, while the passenger, a 52-year-old woman, sustained fractures in her face, a broken clavicle, and had bleeding in her brain. Both were transported to a nearby hospital.
The suspected drunk driver reportedly suffered two broken legs, and is facing charges of intoxication assault, according to the Dallas Police Department.
