Cayla Simple, a 19-year-old college student from Missouri City, Texas, was killed early Saturday morning when her car was struck by a GMC Yukon SUV.
The crash took place at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 6 and Vicksburg Boulevard, in Missouri City, Texas. Simple was driving in her Honda Civic with her college roommate and two other friends when the Yukon ran through its red light and collided into the front driver’s side of the Civic. Simple was killed in the crash, and the three other passengers were sent to the hospital.
The driver of the Yukon was also hospitalized, and reports last state that his blood was being tested for alcohol content. Any results from the test have not yet been reported.
Simple was a freshman at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.
